Our innovative designs coupled with the development of new technologies and process solutions has helped our customers to maximize the value of their recycled material by converting it into marketable products.

Bill Close has served in a variety of roles during his 35 years at WENDT and holds Bachelor of Science degrees in industrial engineering and computer science. His career has spanned a wide area of non-ferrous technology developments ranging from Z-Box concentration of automobile shredder residue (ASR) to wet recovery systems, to eddy current systems, to the addition of sensors at the end of the plants to replace hand-picking.

For the last 22 years Close has led WENDT’s process and technology efforts developing non-ferrous recovery and sorting systems from ASR with a strong focus on proper application of sensor-based sorting. His travels have included worldwide investigations of commercially available technologies and have regularly included visits to European trade shows and vendors.
