Organizational culture affects all aspects of your business, including employee retention, safety, and community relations. An organization’s leadership can also shape its culture, both positively and negatively. Developed for supervisory managers and safety professionals, ReMA’s instructor-led online course Organizational Culture and Safety Success provides guidance on developing positive organizational culture through leadership.
Topics include transformational leadership and its principles, techniques to improve culture, and the impact of an organization’s culture on safety and outcomes. Participants will learn what affects positive organizational culture and develop strategies for engaging the workforce to improve safety outcomes.
Dr Ryan Nolte is ReMA's senior director of safety outreach where he helps members with safety compliance and regulatory updates. He has led the development of ReMA’s popular Organizational Culture and Safety Success class and provided outreach training for Material Handler and Powered Industrial Vehicle Train-the-Trainer. He worked at two metal recycling companies, holding roles in operations and as an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager for 18 years. He has worked in brass rod production, automotive, plastics, and battery making industries. Ryan holds a Master of Science from Indiana State University in Occupational Health and Safety and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University.
The course is divided into four live sessions conducted via Zoom. Attendance at each of the four sessions is required. Participants must complete a pre-test before the first session and score 70% or higher on their post-test to receive a certificate of completion.
