Shawn Smith, Senior Product Director, Training, KPA

Shawn Smith has 30+ years of training production, programming, and learning management expertise. He leads KPA’s dynamic training and content team, a group of self-proclaimed nerds and individuals who are passionate about keeping your employees safe. He oversees the trifecta of compliant, impactful, and innovative Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) resources at KPA. In his spare time, he is a high school robotics coach in Hershey, PA, pursuing global acclaim and inspiring today’s youth to be themselves.

Stephany Birkholz, Regulatory Project Manager, KPA

Stephany Birkholz re-joined KPA in 2024 as the Regulatory Project Manager. She previously served eight years with KPA as an EHS consultant in manufacturing and automotive industries, then team supervisor in the Southeast region where she led a team of eight risk management consultants and indirectly managed a client base of over 1,000 clients. Prior to KPA, Birkholz worked four years with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as a hazardous waste inspector, specializing in automotive, surface coating, aerospace, and dry-cleaning industries. Most recently, she served as the lead safety engineer for a 1,000-employee aerospace manufacturing facility in northeast Florida for one and half years.

She earned her B.S. from the University of South Florida in Environmental Science and Policy with a minor in Geology, is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Registered Environmental Professional (REP), and Competent Lead Auditor for ISO 45001:2018 (TPECS). Birkholz calls Ponte Vedra Beach home and enjoys exploring the Florida outdoors with her family.
