  • 9 – 10 a.m. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Update Missouri state patrol officer will speak on commercial vehicle enforcement update.
  • 10 a.m. Networking Break
  • 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. Mental Health Mental health professional will discuss ways to address mental health for both self and workers with an emphasis on unplanned stressors and response.
  • 11:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Lunch
  • 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Near Miss / Root Cause Analysis / SIF Prevention Panelists from the recycling industry will explore near misses as incidents of importance for identifying gaps in safety programs, proper incident investigation techniques to reduce the possibility of an accident repeat and to improve process, and how serious incidents or fatalities (SIF) can be reduced by applying near miss reporting to root cause analysis.

  • 8:30 – 9 a.m Rapid Fire Topic - Particulate Dust in Recycling / Shredding Operations This will be a member-led discussion for all participants on the issue of particulate dust in recycling and shredding operations.
  • 9 – 10 a.m. Material Acceptance Applications for Dangerous MaterialsPanel will discuss acceptance policies, training for employees and vendors, and contingency procedures from an EHS, buyer, and operations perspective.
  • 10 a.m. Networking Break
  • 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. Environmental Justice This session will provide an overview of environmental justice activity nationally and will include specific state and regional situations.
  • 11:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Lunch
  • 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Management Systems in Practice A member with experience using a management system will discuss the benefits of using a system to operate efficiently and effectively and the ancillary advantages to all organizational functions including quality, finance, and productivity.
  • 1:30 – 2 p.m. Electrical Safety Video
  • 2:00 – 3 p.m. Handling and Storage of Lithium Ion Batteries
  • 3 – 3:15 p.m. Networking Break

Hazard Recognition: Fire Safety; Prevention in Recycling*
Registration is required. Select this course when registering for ISEC. Limited to 50 participants

Join ISRI’s safety team for this free 4-hour course on Hazard Recognition: Fire Safety and Prevention. The course was developed to assist employees, team leads, supervisors, plant managers, and senior leadership in understanding hazards associated with fires in the recycling and materials recovery facilities (MRF) environments. Attendees will learn ways to potentially control these hazards in an attempt to prevent significant fire losses.

All levels of recycling company employees are encouraged to attend. This course is co-taught by a member of ISRI’s safety team, alongside a fire professional familiar with recycling facilities.

Registration Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing on or before Friday, May 13, 2022. Individuals who cancel in writing on or before May 13 will receive a full refund minus a $50 administrative fee. ReMA will provide a refund equal to 50% of the registration fee for registration cancellations made in writing after May 13.
