Bobby Triesch joined his family’s business, Newell Recycling Co., Inc. in San Antonio in 1989, as the Special Project Manager. He owned and operated Newell Recycling of Denver, Inc. from 1990 to 1998, at which time he sold it to Metal Management (MTLM), and stayed on with MTLM as the company’s Shredder Expert until 2003. Triesch then joined Newell Recycling of Atlanta, Inc. as Vice President & Director of Ferrous Operations. In this position, he oversaw all aspects of the company’s operations, including three Mega Automobile Shredders, eddy current & sensor plants, iron yard cutting and shearing, maintenance, and all research & development activities. In 2016, SA Recycling acquired 50% of Newell, and in 2017 acquired the balance of the business. The Georgia Region of SA Recycling currently operates the 23 facilities, with four shredders and two NF hubs with wire choppers. Triesch is the Vice President & Regional General Manager of this business. He majored in Industrial Engineering at Texas A&M University. Triesch remains very involved in the recycled materials industry, having served in many positions at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), now the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA), including as Chair of the Ferrous Division (2002-2004), Chair of the Shredder Committee (1998-2002), on the National Board of Directors (2002-2006), and is currently on the SE USA Chapter Board of ReMA. Triesch is Past President of the Georgia Recyclers Association (GRA). He is active in the Atlanta community helping charities, communities, and groups in need.
