Kenn Kunze, of IC Fire Prevention LLC, is a retired Battalion Chief with 30 years of experience in the Combat Division of the Fort Wayne Indiana Fire Department. As an incident commander, Chief Kunze fought to save property and life. He saw the tragedy first-hand and his passion for fire prevention was forged at those incidents. As an NFPA-certified Fire Inspector-I, he has worked in the recycled materials industry since 2015 to identify fire risk and promote fire prevention management practices. Chief Kunze assisted in developing the ISRI "Guide to Creating Fire Prevention and Management Plan" and has a proven track record of helping to reduce fire risk throughout the recycled materials industry.

Dr Ryan Nolte is ReMA's senior director of safety outreach where he helps members with safety compliance and regulatory updates. He has led the development of ReMA’s popular Organizational Culture and Safety Success class and provided outreach training for Material Handler and Powered Industrial Vehicle Train-the-Trainer. He worked at two metal recycling companies, holding roles in operations and as an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager for 18 years. He has worked in brass rod production, automotive, plastics, and battery making industries. Ryan holds a Master of Science from Indiana State University in Occupational Health and Safety and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Rebecca Andrechak is the Assistant General Counsel & Director of Contracts and Trademarks for ReMA. She has been with the organization for almost seven years, during which she also obtained her law degree from American University. Prior to law school, Andrechak studied international affairs at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. She now primarily works with ReMA's General Counsel on governance, contracts, and intellectual property matters. Andrechak lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband Jack and their jack russell terrier Ollie.

Shannon Fertitta is currently serving as Executive Director for GRSO/RIOS organization and served on the GRSO Board of Directors for four years prior to that. She previously worked in the nonprofit space in Baton Rouge, LA for 22 years, leading movements across Louisiana for responsible electronics recycling, digital inclusion for the community, and safe workplace practices. Fertitta has extensive experience implementing and operating management systems in a live environment, including RIOS, R2, and third party certification audit support.

George Malamis is the Director of Operations for Sims Metal. He started his career with Sims over 23 years ago as an Industrial Engineer before moving into operations. Malamis leads the local team in Chicago that has served as a model for integrating environmental compliance, community outreach, and government relations. Malamis grew up near the Pilsen neighborhood and has lived and worked there for most of his career. He has seen changes in demographics, elected officials, activists, and businesses in the industrial corridor that helped form the strategies to build relationships and contribute to the community. He holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Northern Illinois University

Dr. David Wagger is Chief Scientist and Director of Environmental Management at the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA). He has more than 30 years of experience in environmental engineering, policy, regulation, research & development, and science & technology, including nearly 20 years at ReMA. Dr. Wagger assists ReMA members with environmental compliance and management and represents ReMA and the recycled materials industry on federal and state environmental regulations.

He also holds external positions on science & technology, including Project Group 1 Co-Chair of the Basel Convention Plastic Waste Partnership Working Group; Member of the Strategic Advisory Committee of the REMADE Institute; and (until term expired recently) Commissioner on the General Services Administration (GSA) Acquisition Policy Federal Advisory Committee for sustainable acquisition.

Dr. Wagger holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he minored in political science and was a Fannie and John Hertz Foundation Fellow.

Scott Aikin has been with RadComm Systems for over 25 years. He is currently Director of North and Latin American Sales, in addition to developing new technologies and products with OEM accounts. Aikin is regarded as an industry expert for his in-depth knowledge of and commitment to the radiation detection market and has performed high level safety training at over 1,750 facilities in North America. He is an active member of the Recycled Materials Association, the Canadian Association of Recycling Industries, and the Association for Iron & Steel Technology.

Ryan McCorkle began his career at Ludlum Measurements in 2014, where he played a pivotal role as an inside sales representative for the health physics division. His expertise and dedication helped drive sales and support clients in navigating the complexities of radiation detection. In 2019, McCorkle transitioned to the Radiation Security Division, focusing on the recycled materials industry. In this role, he works diligently to provide top-tier radiation detection systems, ensuring that companies can operate safely and efficiently. McCorkle is passionate about enhancing safety measures, helping businesses thrive while protecting their employees and the environment.

Bobby Triesch joined his family’s business, Newell Recycling Co., Inc. in San Antonio in 1989, as the Special Project Manager. He owned and operated Newell Recycling of Denver, Inc. from 1990 to 1998, at which time he sold it to Metal Management (MTLM), and stayed on with MTLM as the company’s Shredder Expert until 2003. Triesch then joined Newell Recycling of Atlanta, Inc. as Vice President & Director of Ferrous Operations. In this position, he oversaw all aspects of the company’s operations, including three Mega Automobile Shredders, eddy current & sensor plants, iron yard cutting and shearing, maintenance, and all research & development activities. In 2016, SA Recycling acquired 50% of Newell, and in 2017 acquired the balance of the business. The Georgia Region of SA Recycling currently operates the 23 facilities, with four shredders and two NF hubs with wire choppers. Triesch is the Vice President & Regional General Manager of this business. He majored in Industrial Engineering at Texas A&M University. Triesch remains very involved in the recycled materials industry, having served in many positions at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), now the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA), including as Chair of the Ferrous Division (2002-2004), Chair of the Shredder Committee (1998-2002), on the National Board of Directors (2002-2006), and is currently on the SE USA Chapter Board of ReMA. Triesch is Past President of the Georgia Recyclers Association (GRA). He is active in the Atlanta community helping charities, communities, and groups in need.

With a decade of experience in the scrap recycling industry, Justin Kibler has established himself as a seasoned professional. Starting his career as an intern at WENDT CORPORATION, he quickly demonstrated his technical expertise and passion for innovative solutions. As a Sales Engineer, Kibler leveraged his mechanical engineering background to develop and implement custom integration solutions for customers. In his current role as Business Development Manager, Kibler continues to drive growth and innovation at WENDT CORPORATION. By applying his deep understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies, he helps customers optimize their operations and achieve maximum efficiency. His recent involvement in the development of WENDTOS underscores his commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that meet the evolving needs of the market.

Brian Sackett - New Product Design & Development Brian Sackett is a Marine Corps veteran with a 37-year career in the metal recycling industry. He started his career with heavy equipment and industrial maintenance, followed by maintenance management, operational plant management, and project engineering with a focus on shredders, and nonferrous separation. Sackett served as a senior project director, global technology/engineering team member, and as national shredder director for Sims Metal Management, before joining Riverside Engineering in 2019. Sackett’s operational experience and drive toward continuous improvement fit well with Riverside Engineering’s commitment to the recycled materials industry.

With a degree in Mechanical Engineering (2010), Alan Grove launched his career as a design engineer for a New York-based OEM specializing in single-stream recycling. Over 11 years, he advanced to Lead Engineer, significantly contributing to all facets of the business, including sales, engineering, production, installation, and aftermarket support. This hands-on experience has given him a comprehensive understanding of recycling equipment design and implementation. In his current role as Director of Recycling at General Kinematics, Grove applies his industry expertise to support global operations, driving innovative solutions and enhancing recycling processes worldwide.

Ken Justus is WENDT Corporation’s new Business Development Manager for Aftermarket, leading the company’s dedicated aftermarket team. With over 30 years of experience in metals recycling and industrial markets, Justus is responsible for driving business development and sales growth of WENDT Aftermarket, focusing on providing technical solutions for non-WENDT shredders. He brings a wealth of knowledge, combining his mechanical engineering technology background with global experience, having supported shredder plants across North America, Europe, and Australia. Known for his strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, Justus’ expertise spans operations, senior management, and international sales.

Mike Shattuck is the business development manager for Eriez Manufacturing providing magnetic separation solutions for the recycled materials industry. For the past 18 years he has been involved in market development, product development, and product implementation in the recycled materials industry. His recent successes have been working with customers, (recyclers and steel mills alike) to help develop a process to produce a low copper ferrous, which is desirable to steel mills. Shattuck visits dozens of recyclers per year and enjoys the fact, that even after 18 years, he still learns something new after every visit.

Jessica Driggers came to the waste and recycled materials industry in 2015 as Sales & Marketing professional for a North Carolina equipment manufacturer. She quickly blazed a trail in the industry bringing leadership and knowledgeable experience to her role as a Regional Sales Manager with Sierra International Machinery covering the Southeast U.S. and Ontario, CA. Driggers supports large and small companies from a variety of industries in finding solutions for their recycling equipment needs. She is an advocate in the industry as a committee volunteer for various state associations. She previously served six years as a board member and three years as an executive board member and is a past president of the Carolina Recycling Association. Driggers has also been involved with ReMA for the past decade. Driggers earned her BS from the University of Georgia. She lives in Greensboro, NC with her two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys home renovation projects, exercising and strength training, learning about health and wellness, and spending time with friends and family.

Philip Walls began his career with Harris in 1994 within the engineering department where he was involved in the design and management of all Harris product offerings and was promoted to manager of that department. For the last several years, Walls has focused on the sales and service aspects of the shredder/ferrous product line where he uses his 30 years of experience and knowledge to the benefit of Harris’ large customer base.
