LAS VEGAS, April 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) today announced that former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will deliver the keynote address at the 2014 ReMA Convention and Exposition on April 6-10, in Las Vegas. ISRI2014 is set to provide scrap recyclers from around the world with the educational and networking opportunities, product showcases, and industry news needed to run a successful business.

"Never before has there been such a must-attend scrap recycling event as ISRI2014," said Chuck Carr, vice president of member services for ISRI. "ISRI2014 returns to Vegas with more exhibits than ever before, and dynamic programming designed to meet the unique needs of our industry. If you are in the scrap recycling business, there is no better place to be than ISRI2014."

ISRI's Distinguished Speakers Series will include a keynote address by Hillary Rodham Clinton, Former Secretary of State and Former U.S. Senator from New York, during the Closing General Session on Thursday, April 10. Hillary Rodham Clinton served as the 67th U.S. Secretary of State from 2009 until 2013, after nearly four decades in public service. Her "smart power" approach to foreign policy repositioned American diplomacy and development for the 21st century. Clinton played a central role in restoring America's standing in the world, reasserting the United States as a Pacific power, imposing crippling sanctions on Iran and North Korea, responding to the Arab Awakening and negotiating a ceasefire in the Middle East. Earlier, as First Lady and Senator from New York, she traveled to more than 80 countries as a champion of human rights, democracy, and opportunities for women and girls. Clinton also worked to provide health care to millions of children, create jobs and opportunity, and support first responders who risked their lives at Ground Zero. In her historic campaign for President, Clinton won 18 million votes.

The Closing General Session will take place on April 10 at 12:45 p.m. in Ballroom F of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
