Electronics

May 7, 2014, 16:52 PM by SPAN
Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) introduced an electronics recycling bill (S.2090) that would restrict exports and trade of used electronics.
This is the same bill (H.R.2791) that Rep. Gene Green (D-TX) introduced earlier in the 113th Congress. Senator Whitehouse introduced it with no co-sponsors unlike in previous Congresses. Congressman Shimkus (R-IL) told ReMA members at the January Board Meeting in Washington that Congressman Green’s bill will not advance through the necessary committee process.
