State, Federal, and Local Lobbying Law Guidance

As part of ISRI's commitment to providing assistance to our chapters with their state advocacy efforts we've acquired access to the State and Federal Communications Lobbying Laws and Political Contribution guides for our chapter leadership. The guides provide drop-down jurisdiction summaries at the Federal, state, and local level in the Executive Source lists and 50-state summaries of key provisions in the Resource Page links.
Some states have extremely expansive definitions of “lobbying” that cover any contact with an official intended to influence opinions on legislative or regulatory matters, so use State and Federal Communications to know before you go. Just contact Danielle Waterfield or Justin Short to learn more about the guides and for assistance with registration.

Members can also sign up for the “Compliance Now” and “News You Can Use” e-newsletters to receive the latest chamber news and compliance updates from around the country. Members with extensive lobbying activity can also consider the State and Fed ALERTS Consulting Program for filing assistance; ALERTS is not included in the ReMA membership.
