ReMA Launches Mobile App for Members, Recycling Stakeholders to Engage, Network, and Advocate

Apr 15, 2015, 16:10 PM by Mark Carpenter

(Washington, DC)- The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) today announced the release of ISRI Mobile, its iPhone and Android applications. The app provides resources and information about ReMA and scrap recycling; offering value in the day-to-day operations of its members and industry insights for other stakeholders. Users can access informative safety materials, industry news and events, commodities facts and figures, and ReMA Chapter listings. ReMA members can log in to use a searchable Member Directory, connect with state and federal elected officials, read the latest edition of Scrap magazine, publications and governance documents, and more.

The mobile apps are also equipped to allow the ReMA to send push notifications with breaking news, public service announcements, and calls to action to support the scrap industry. Push notifications are a useful way of delivering information quickly to the public, often faster than the media.

“ISRI Mobile was developed with ReMA members in mind to give them the resources they need, when they need them to operate their business,” said Mark Carpenter, director of media relations and online communications. “Wherever they go, ReMA members now have the ability to connect with other recyclers, utilize ReMA safety materials, and get the latest industry information. ReMA Mobile amplifies our role as the Voice of the Recycling Industry.”

ISRI’s mobile applications are developed and maintained by Purple Forge. Purple Forge is the leading provider of mobile applications to associations and advocacy organizations, including the National Mining Association and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

"ISRI has taken critical industry information and matched it with a powerful public engagement engine,” shared John Craig, VP Sales and Marketing of Purple Forge. "This will allow them to deeply engage their members in support of their daily operations, as well as empower them to act in support of their own industry.”
