The U.S. Administration is involved in a range of high profile trade disputes at the World Trade Organization, and two have, in recent weeks, culminated with threats of retaliatory tariffs. These include a softwood lumber trade dispute with Canada and the protracted disagreement between the United States and European Union over aircraft subsidies. Tariffs have been proposed on a range of imports and exports by all three governments. Scrap has not been included in any of these cases.
ISRI continues to monitor trade policy developments in the United States and around the world to be able to provide timely and practical information to our members that are directly and indirectly affected by international scrap trade. Please contact Adina Renee Adler if you have any questions.
