The David J. Joseph Company’s River Metals Recycling team members are shown here participating in OSHA's Fall Prevention Week at their Newport, KY facility.
During a time when social distancing is a necessity for both health and safety reasons, The David J. Joseph Company’s River Metals Recycling team shows that safety education and training goes on. This safety training meeting coincided with OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction week that took place September 14 – 18, 2020. Portable ladder safety was the topic in this meeting at River Metals Recycling. Falls are among the leading causes of fatal workplace injuries among construction workers. In the General Industry sector which many ReMA members come under, Slips, Trips, and Falls are also a leading cause for injury. Hazard recognition and keeping your workforce aware of the potential hazards around them is a key part of your health and safety program. OSHA’s resources and guidance for preventing falls can be found online. For more information on ISRI’s safety programs contact us at isrisafety@isri.org or (202) 662-8500.
