ReMA Recognizes Global Recycling Day by Celebrating Everyday Heroes of the Recycled Materials

Sustainability is our super power in combatting emissions and protecting natural resources

(March 18, 2024 - Washington, D.C.) – ISRI, the Voice of the Recycled Materials Industry, is celebrating Global Recycling Day on March 18, 2024 by highlighting #RecyclingHeroes – the hundreds of thousands of everyday heroes of the recycled materials industry who contribute to a sustainable and resilient future for our planet.

“On Global Recycling Day 2024, we celebrate our recycled materials industry heroes who inspire and propel us to a sustainable planet through commitment and innovation,” said ReMA President Robin Wiener. “Every time recyclers put high-quality materials back into the manufacturing supply chain, we save trees, reduce drilling for fossil fuels, or cut down on mining. ISRI applauds our more than 1,600 member companies who work daily to fortify manufacturing, infrastructure investment, and a sustainable society.”

Global Recycling Day was created in 2018 to help recognize and celebrate the importance recycling plays in preserving our precious primary resources and securing the future of our planet. It is a day for the world to come together and put the planet first – and ReMA has been a proud supporter every year since its inception.

“Recyclers around the world recognize the critical role of recycling in environmental protection, resource conservation, sustainability, and the global economy. On a daily basis, our members and their employees truly are heroes,” concluded Wiener.
