Recycling Caucus Chair Celebrated at Capitol Hill Reception

(Nov. 13, 2024 – Washington, DC) – The Recycled Materials Association (ReMA) joined several organizations today at a Recycling Caucus reception on Capitol Hill to acknowledge America Recycles Day and honor Chairman Tom Carper (D-Del) for his long-time commitment to advancing recycling policies and working across the aisle.

ReMAPhotoARD (1)“We thank Senator Carper for being a founding member of the Recycling Caucus and for his longtime support for the recycled materials industry,” said ReMA President Robin Wiener. “The industry is grateful for the Senator’s strong commitment to advancing recycling over the years with bi-partisan approaches toward addressing and advancing critical recycling issues. Even as he approaches his retirement, Senator Carper remains a leading advocate for building a resilient and sustainable recycled materials supply chain.”

Notable highlights of the Senator’s work on recycling issues include the introduction and Senate passage of the Recycling and Composting Accountability Act and the Recycling Infrastructure and Accessibility Act, which have been critical for the future of recycling. The bills focus on improving post-consumer materials management and strengthening recycling infrastructure across the nation.
