ISRI's annual industry-wide Safety Stand-Down Day will take place next Wednesday, June 24 and we are asking ReMA members and all others in the recycling industry to reaffirm safety as our number one core value by shutting down operations for at least one hour on every shift that day to engage in safety awareness training. The training can take any form you wish, from employee training to a management walk-around, or any other effective safety training method you are comfortable with. Visit the Stand-Down Day webpage to access training guides, videos, presentations, and industry fatality information from the last two years.
"Be Safe to Be There" Testimonials Needed
ISRI is collecting short testimonial-style smartphone videos from ReMA member employees and their loved ones about what the Safety Stand-Down Day theme "Be Safe to Be There" means to them when it comes to safety on the job. ReMA will feature these short (10-30 second) videos on ISRI's safety website and on social media. Post your videos on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using #Bsafe2Bthere or email them to
Lisa Hazell.
