In light of the increasing role and significance county government has on daily business operations, ISRI National is partnering with the National Association of Counties (NACo) to assist ISRI members with promoting the recycling industry at the local level of government.
As part of this effort ReMA will be conducting a workshop at NACo's Annual Conference to be held July 10-13 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC. ISRI's workshop, entitled Reduce, Reuse, Recycle + Relationships = Lasting Results for Government & Industry will take place on Sunday, July 12 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. This workshop will focus on the positive impact when partnerships between counties and private industry, focusing on one particular partnership between a county and the recycling industry.
NACo is the only national organization that represents county governments in the United States. It promotes sound public policies, fosters county solutions and innovation, promotes intergovernmental and public-private collaboration and provides value-added services to save counties and taxpayers money. Partnering with NACo gives ReMA the opportunity to follow up on the introduction given at the Western Interstate Regional conference to county leaders and show that scrap is not waste and recycling is not disposal.
