Interested in joining ISRI in the spotlight before thousands of state legislators, staff, and others interested in public policy?
Then be
sure to join us August 3 to 6 in Seattle for the NationalConference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Summit! ReMA will be sponsoring the
Exhibit Hall Lunch on Wednesday, August 5, giving you the perfect chance to
show state policymakers how their actions and legislation impact your
business.
There is no better or cheaper way to get in front of more
than 1,200 state policymakers in one place and help spread the message that Recycling
is Bigger than the Bin. The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL)
Legislative Summit is the perfect event for ISRI's members to showcase their
business operations while being part of a larger movement to convince
legislators, educators, and law enforcement that the scrap recycling industry
is an economic and environmental boom for our local communities. Many of the
5,000 legislators, staff, officials, business representatives, union members,
and others interested in public policy who attend the Summit think nothing more
about recycling other than the little collection bin that “magically” empties
itself and makes them feel good for filling it up. Where the material goes
after the bin no one knows, just as they don’t know where end of life vehicles,
tires, plastics and other valuable commodities go…unless you tell them.
This will be the industry’s third year sponsoring the
Exhibit Hall Lunch and we're planning to make it an even bigger success than
last year in Minneapolis. ReMA members and Summit attendees alike were wowed by
how the industry has transformed the historically drab luncheon into an
interactive opportunity to see and learn about the industry. ReMA will have
commodity displays featuring recycling equipment and pre and post recycled
materials, but this all hinges on ReMA members being available to explain how
recycling operates in the legislators' districts. Members can also guide
attendees through the displays before and after the luncheon, as the luncheon
hall will be open throughout the Summit and located right next to registration!
Wondering whether the legislators who make the laws that
directly impact your company understand the recycling industry? Help make sure
they do! Legislators need to hear directly from ReMA members about the vital
roles they play in the community, economy, and environment. ReMA members can
still get the Advanced Foundation rate of $1,008 by registering online before July 10; just be sure to select "Foundation
Sponsor" and "Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries" from the
drop down list.
Can't make it for the entire meeting but interested in
helping at the lunch? Volunteers for the Exhibit Hall Luncheon can get a free
pass for the event! Just be sure to let Danielle Waterfield and Justin Short know if you'll be attending
or have any questions about the Summit or events.
