ISRI will be taking center stage once again at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit, and you can help spread the message that Recycling is Bigger than the Bin!
The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit
is the perfect event to show state policymakers how their actions and
legislation impact your business, and as an ReMA member you can register for the
full conference for over 15 percent off or join us for the ISRI-sponsored
exhibit hall luncheon on Wednesday, August 5 for free!
Many of the more than 2,000 legislators and staff who attend
the Summit think nothing more about recycling other than the little collection
bin that “magically” empties itself and makes them feel good for filling it up.
Where the material goes after the bin no one knows, just as they don’t know
where end of life vehicles, tires, plastics, and other valuable commodities
go…unless you tell them.
This will be the industry’s third year sponsoring the
Exhibit Hall Lunch and we're planning to make it an even bigger success than
last year in Minneapolis. ReMA members and Summit attendees alike were wowed by
how the industry has transformed the historically drab luncheon into an
interactive opportunity to see and learn about the industry. ReMA will have
commodity displays featuring recycling equipment and pre and post recycled
materials, but this all hinges on ReMA members being available to explain how
recycling operates in the legislators' districts. Members can also guide
attendees through the displays before and after the luncheon, as the luncheon
hall will be open throughout the Summit and located right next to registration.
Wondering whether the legislators who make the
laws that directly impact your company understand the recycling industry? Help
make sure they do. If you're interested in helping with the luncheon itself you
can receive a free pass to the event by contacting
Danielle Waterfield and
Justin Short. For those who want the
full Summit experience, ReMA members can still
register
at the NCSL Foundation rate of $1,125; just be sure to select "Foundation
Sponsor" and "Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries" from the
drop down list.
