The 2019 Fly-In was ISRI’s biggest turnout on Capitol Hill in recent memory. About 58 people from ISRI member companies participated in more than 90 meetings the morning and early afternoon of Wednesday, July 17.
On the Senate side, ReMA members met with Sens. Portman, Braun, Baldwin, Boozman, Roberts, and Cotton, as well as with the staffs of 37 other senators. On the House side, ReMA members met with 14 elected representatives and the staffs of another 33 House members. The day kicked off with a breakfast at the Capitol Hill Club, where Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) both spoke. In their meetings, ReMA members advocated for issues including the passage of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, relief from burdensome freight rail policies, and greater infrastructure investment.
