On November 14, the EPA hosted the first America Recycles Innovation Fair at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. Forty companies were selected by the EPA to showcase their recent recycling innovations. ReMA was one of four additional sponsors. This event marked a full week of events to recognize recycling in America.
To kick off the event, EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler gave opening remarks. Representatives from One More Generation spoke on plastic pollution and what they are doing to motivate youth around the world. In addition, U.S. veterans currently working in the recycling and waste management industry were recognized.
Several plastic recyclers were represented at the fair. One in particular was ReMA member RePolyTex, who displayed their process for converting mixed electronics plastic shred into plastic plywood. With recent negative media surrounding plastic recycling, RePolyTex was proud to showcase their process, which utilizes all electronics polymer types and generates zero waste.
