(Washington, DC) – The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) recently announced the speakers for ISRI2015, April 21-25, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates will headline ISRI’s popular general sessions. Author and corporate strategist Stan Slap will deliver remarks at the opening session. ISRI2015 is set to provide scrap recyclers from around the world with the educational and networking opportunities, product showcases, and industry news needed to run a successful business.

Former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates appears as a part of ISRI’s Distinguished Speakers Series, generously sponsored by Caterpillar Inc. He will speak during the Closing General Session on Saturday, April 25. Robert Gates served as the 22nd secretary of defense from 2006 to 2011. He is the only secretary of defense in U.S. history to serve under two Presidents of different parties. Gates has served under eight presidents in all. Prior to his appointment a secretary of defense, Gates served 27 years as an intelligence professional with the Central Intelligence Agency. Gates is currently partnered with Condoleezza Rice in the consulting firm of RHG LLP. He serves on the board and executive committee of the American Council on Education, and as President of the Boy Scouts of America.
The Opening Session will focus on business and features a speech by Stan Slap on revolutionizing performance for the world’s smartest companies. Stan is president of the international consulting company Slap as well as a New York Times best-selling author. He is an entrepreneur, strategist, and motivator. In his blistering, funny and empowering keynote speech, Stan will debunk the most common excuses for poor performance and provide the foundation for creating a solution mentality throughout any company.
