(Los Angeles) – The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), the Voice of the Recycling Industry™, announced the winners of its seventh annual Vehicle Safety Awards. The awards are presented to those members that have demonstrated a strong commitment to the safety of employees and public through effective fleet safety programs. The awards come in two categories: Best Fleet Award and Pacesetter Award.
“ISRI’s Vehicle Safety Awards recognize those member companies that standout when it comes to vehicle safety records,” said Commodor Hall, ISRI’s transportation safety director. “A safe transportation program is the result of a strong safety culture, proper vehicle maintenance program, and open communication among drivers, vehicle maintenance staff, and management. It takes a commitment by all to ensure that fleet and driver safety is paramount. ReMA congratulates those members who achieved strong vehicle safety records.”
Based on class size, the Best Fleet Award is presented to the ReMA member with the lowest vehicle accident rate, and the lowest U.S. Department of Transportation Recordable rate in 2018. The Pacesetter Award, also based on class, is granted to the ReMA member using the same criteria as the Best Fleet Award but covering a three-year period, in this case January 1, 2016 – December 31, 2018.
