(Washington, DC) - The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) today released the following statement on President-Elect Biden’s nomination of Secretary Michael Regan to serve as EPA Administrator. Regan currently serves as secretary of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
ISRI welcomes President-elect Biden’s choice to head the Environmental Protection Agency, Michael Regan. Secretary Regan’s proven record of business and community engagement along with his environmental policy leadership will be critical to continuing our already close partnership with EPA staff. We look forward to working with him to demonstrate recycling’s essential role in the fight against climate change, promoting sustainable manufacturing, and environmental stewardship.
Following nomination, Secretary Regan will proceed through the formal confirmation process.
