(Washington, DC) – The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) today released the following statement following the confirmation of Michael Regan as Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA):
ISRI congratulates Administrator Michael Regan on his confirmation to lead the Environmental Protection Agency. His environmental policy leadership and business acumen as the leader of North Carolina’s Department of Environmental Quality will be critical to our continued partnership with the agency and its professional career employees. In addition to reducing the amount of material that enters landfills and oceans, recycling reduces greenhouse gasses, and plays an essential role in positively affecting our planet. We look forward to working with Administrator Regan to continue to promote recycling as a sustainable climate solution.
