The following list, Scrap's first compilation of wire granulation operations in North America, contains 54 facilities: 48 scrap processing companies (42 in the United States and six in Canada), three utilities, and three manufacturers of wire and cable products. The utilities and manufacturers are denoted with an asterisk because they process only the wire they generate. The scrap processing companies, in contrast, might process both internally generated wire (such as wire they recover from an automobile shredder or electronics recycling operation) and scrap wire they purchase on the open market. The list includes only operators of high-volume wire granulation lines, not those who operate compact wire chopping equipment or wire stripping machines. Companies are listed alphabetically within their state or province. Please send additions or corrections to this list to Scrap Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Kent Kiser at kentkiser@scrap.org.
