ReMA’s Board of Directors was challenged earlier this year by ReMA President Robin Wiener and Senior Vice President Advocacy, Sustainability and Safety Cheryl Coleman to help ReMA grow its youth outreach effort by reaching the ambitious goal of 30 new JASON Learning school sponsorships in 2024. To date, members have committed to eight new JASON Learning school sponsorships in Texas, Ohio and more are in the process of being confirmed which would total $50,000.

New sponsorships are:

  • Venture Metals, Dallas, TX: $5,000
  • CMC Metals, Austin, TX: $5,000
  • Northern Ohio Metal Recyclers: $5,000
  • Davis Index: $5,000
  • Sean Davidson, Toronto, CA: $5,000
  • Jules AI:  $5,000
  • Kripke Enterprises, Toledo, OH: $5,000
  • Monterrey Iron & Metal, San Antonio, TX: $5000
  • An additional $10,000 in sponsorships are in process

“We want to encourage all members to help us reach our 2024 goal,” said ReMA AVP of Sustainability Natalie Betts. “Sponsoring a school with JASON Learning STEM curriculum is a turn-key way to develop the skills of the future recycled materials workforce, and to engage meaningfully with your local community. It’s an investment in the next generation.”

A ReMA and JASON Learning sponsorship includes:

  • Online access to JASON’s educational STEM curricula and resources for teachers, students, and staff.
  • Virtual orientation to JASON Learning for educators and staff.
  • Training for educators and staff on how to use the Recycling Activities Collection.
  • Virtual tour of a recycled materials facility.
  • Entrepreneurial Design and Pitch Challenge where students are challenged to solve real-world problems in recycling.
  • Banner/decal that says “ReMA-JASON School.”
  • Participation in ReMA’s Annual Recycling Contest, open to all K-12 students across the country.
  • Participation in one of JASON’s Regional Conferences.
  • Teacher sponsorships available.

Interested members can sign up here to provide JASON Learning sponsorships. JASON Learning and ReMA staff can help members identify a school to work with or members can suggest a school to support.
